Hungerford Honored as ‘Best and Brightest' Winner

Hungerford, Aldrin, Nichols & Carter, PC has been named one of "West Michigan's 101 Best & Brightest Companies To Work For" for the fourth consecutive year by the Michigan Business & Professional Association. The award honors high standards in various categories as evaluated by an independent research firm. Among the areas Hungerford was recognized for was employee education and development, employee recognition and retention, work-life balance initiatives, and community initiatives. Firm Names Annual GVSU Scholarship Winner

We're pleased to announce Jeff Pauza is the winner of the 2010 Hungerford Accounting Scholarship. The $2,000 scholarship is given to support GVSU students, the GVSU School of Accounting, and the accounting profession in West Michigan. With this year's scholarship Hungerford has now awarded $16,000 to GVSU accounting students since 2003. Pauza expects to graduate from GVSU in April of 2011 with Bachelor of Business Administration in both Accounting and Finance. He has competed in swimming for GVSU for three years, and was named an Academic All-American for 2008-09. Jeff is also an active member of the Beta Alpha Psi, the National Accounting Fraternity.

Murphy Honored -

The Grand Rapids Business Journal has named Hungerford Shareholder Peggy Murphy as one of the "50 Most Influential Women in West Michigan" for 2010.

In-House Accountants Seminar -

Hungerford hosted its annual In-House Accountants Seminar in December. Topics included the following: Annual Payroll Update, Difficult Times = Difficult Collections, the State of the Banking Industry, 7216 Consent Forms, Top 10 Accounting System Controls, Federal and MBT Update, and Remote Access Solutions. Thanks to the generosity of this year's attendees we were able to make a significant donation to this year's charity, Very Special Arts, which offers programs in visual arts, music, dance, and drama to children and adults with disabilities.
