In-House Accountants Seminar -

Hungerford hosted its annual In-House Accountants Seminar in December. Topics included the following: Annual Payroll Update, Difficult Times = Difficult Collections, the State of the Banking Industry, 7216 Consent Forms, Top 10 Accounting System Controls, Federal and MBT Update, and Remote Access Solutions. Thanks to the generosity of this year's attendees we were able to make a significant donation to this year's charity, Very Special Arts, which offers programs in visual arts, music, dance, and drama to children and adults with disabilities.

Hungerford Wins Honor for Third Consecutive Year -

We're pleased to announce that, for the third consecutive year, Hungerford, Aldrin, Nichols & Carter was named one of "West Michigan's 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For." According to the Michigan Business and Professional Association, "This year's winning companies represent high standards and are an example for other companies to emulate." Each nominated company is evaluated by an independent research firm on a number of categories that include Employee Education and Development, Community Initiatives, Compensation and Benefits, Communication, Employee Engagement and Commitment, Recognition and Recruitment, and Work-Life Balance. We once again take our hats off to our greatest asset: our employees. Hungerford and the other recipients were honored at a program in May at the Pinnacle Center in Hudsonville.

Firm Presents Scholarship to GVSU Student -

Our firm is pleased to announce we've named Lindsey Sydor as this year's winner of the annual Hungerford, Aldrin, Nichols & Carter "Accounting Scholarship." With the $2,000 scholarship, Hungerford has now awarded $14,000 to GVSU students since 2003. The award is presented to support GVSU students, the GVSU School of Accounting, and the accounting profession in West Michigan. Sydor will receive her Bachelor of Accounting from GVSU next spring, after which she'll start work on her Master's in Accounting, also through GVSU, in preparation for passing her CPA exam.
