Jerry Nichols, CPA
Shareholder
Jerry joined the firm in 1972, became a shareholder in 1980, and has spent the past 30 years as a member of Hungerford's leadership team. He has participated in the growth of the firm from 10 professionals to its current size of 45. Hungerford provides clients with a full range of services for a variety of family and/or closely-held businesses in West Michigan. We assist our clients with wealth transfer ideas, exit strategies, tax deferral planning, financial reporting, profit improvement plans, and technology security.
Jerry has developed deep long-term relationships with clients over many years of service. He has become a trusted advisor to many of his clients. He provides ideas and assistance with the implementation of strategies to improve business operations and minimize current and future tax dollars. He often asks his clients, "What is keeping you up at night?".
Jerry has been involved in a number of client business sales involving multi-million dollar transactions. He provides a sounding board for management to maximize the potential of the business and to quantify and minimize the tax cost of the transactions, whether the sale is to current management, among shareholders, or to outside third parties.
Jerry enjoys living in West Michigan and spending time with family, friends and grandchildren at his home on Duncan Lake in Caledonia.
