Carla joined Hungerford, Aldrin, Nichols & Carter, PC in 1985 as a staff accountant and was named a Shareholder in 2001. She is a lifetime Michigan resident, received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Michigan Technological University in 1985, and earned her CPA certification in Michigan in 1987.  She provides financial statement, attestation and tax services, and specializes in various aspects of retirement and other employee benefit plans, including plan audits and preparation of required governmental filings. Carla also provides consulting services in ERISA compliance, plan design and plan administration issues.  She has been recognized as a West Michigan expert in her specialization, and is a sought-after presenter for Michigan conferences and meetings.

In 2001, Carla was honored for her success in business by receiving the Grand Rapids YWCA Tribute Award, "Woman of Achievement." She is married to Richard, and has two children, Bill and Betsy. She is personally active in the community as a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where she has served on the Finance Council and as a volunteer musician. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Grand Rapids Public Library Foundation, and does volunteer work for numerous other local nonprofit organizations.   Carla enjoys sailing and skiing, and is an accomplished musician.
