Community Involvement

In-House Accountants Seminar

Hungerford hosted its annual In-House Accountants Seminar in December. Topics included the following: Annual Payroll Update, Difficult Times = Difficult Collections, the State of the Banking Industry, 7216 Consent Forms, Top 10 Accounting System Controls, Federal and MBT Update, and Remote Access Solutions. Thanks to the generosity of this year's attendees we were able to make a significant donation to this year's charity, Very Special Arts, which offers programs in visual arts, music, dance, and drama to children and adults with disabilities.

Firm Gives Back to the Community

Hungerford, Aldrin, Nichols & Carter was once again well represented at the most recent United Way's "Day of Caring," where employees of area companies volunteer to assist local schools and service agencies with projects. This year we volunteered on two projects. The first was to both donate to and help compile supplies into individual Disaster Preparedness Kits for the American Red Cross of Greater GR. Our second project was to assist with landscaping, painting, and clean-up for the Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding in Rockford. We also collected pet food donations for the Humane Society's Kibble Konnection, a pet food bank that helps low-income families and those struggling financially to feed their pets.

Firm Participates in Juvenile Diabetes Foundation Event

Aaron Sal and his wife Andrea decided to make the “Walk to Cure Diabetes” event a tribute to Aaron’s father. Aaron served as the captain of the Hungerford walk team for the event in September at Ah-Nab-Awen Park in Grand Rapids. The annual event raises money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to help some of the 17-million Americans affected by diabetes. Aaron was pleased to report we raised over $2,700 for that great cause.
