Firm Repeats as “Best and Brightest” Recipient

For the second straight year, Hungerford, Aldrin, Nichols & Carter, PC has been named one of West Michigan’s “101 Best and Brightest Companies To Work For.” The 2008 awards are presented by the Michigan Business & Professional Association (MBPA) to firms and businesses in the region to “demonstrate why each of them would be an ideal place for employees to work.” Hungerford was recognized for its longevity of service and loyalty by its employees, flexible working opportunities, and also the firm’s extensive education and development program for employees. The MBPA said, “The winners are companies that recognize employees as their greatest assets and work with imagination and conviction to create organizational value and business results through their people.”

Firm Announces 2008 Scholarship Winner

Anastasia Nowak of Whitehall is the 2008 winner of the Hungerford Accounting Scholarship, a $2,000 scholarship the firm awards each year to a student in Grand Valley State University’s Accounting & Taxation Department. Nowak is working toward a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a double degree in accounting and finance, and expects to graduate in December of this year. She then immediately starts work on her MSA, also at Grand Valley. The Hungerford scholarship program was started in 2003, and to date has awarded $12,000 in scholarships to support both GVSU and the accounting profession in West Michigan.
